Please note that this enclosure only works with SIDE PORT Edge-o-Matic Devices.
If your Edge-o-Matic has a vertical pressure sensor, please contact us to express interest in this upgrade. Thank you.
This case upgrade is for the earlier snap-together Edge-o-Matic enclosure. The new enclosure is made of smooth charcoal grey resin, securely fastens with screws, and features a lower profile than the previous case.
Replacing the enclosure requires the same care and electronics repair skill as replacing parts in your desktop computer or similar. Be sure to work in a clean location, free of static and lint. Replacement instructions are included below to give you a general idea of how complicated this process may be. If you would like to send in your Edge-o-Matic for us to do the upgrade for you, please email us.
In this package you will receive:
- 1x EOM Resin Top Shell
- 1x EOM Resin Bottom Shell
- 8x M2.5 Flat-Head Black Oxide Screws
- 4x M2.5 x 11 mm Metal Spacers
- 1x Hex Wrench
Replacement instructions:
- Carefully separate the old enclosure to remove the top cover. Set aside the acrylic display protector, buttons, and button spacers.
- Remove the two screws securing the Edge-o-Matic control board from the bottom enclosure, and remove the control board from the enclosure.
- Remove the screws securing the display to the Edge-o-Matic from both sides, gently un-plug the display from its connector and set aside.
- Place the new control board in the bottom shell of the new enclosure. Push 4 of the included screws up through the bottom of the enclosure, through the control board, and secure hand-tight with the new spacers.
- Attach the display to its connector and rest it on the 4 spacers.
- Insert the blue buttons into the top shell to check fit: Some button heads may rub against the side of the new shell, this can be trimmed with scissors (see note).
- Place the button spacers, buttons, and acrylic screen cover onto the lower control board. Remember to clean any dust and debris on the acrylic screen cover before continuing.
- Align the top shell with the acrylic screen protector and buttons, ensure that it has seated correctly on the device, and fasten with the remaining 4 screws.
- Gently tighten all 8 screws with the included hex wrench until they are snug enough to keep the enclosure on, but not so snug as to cause it emotional damage. We don't want it to have a breakdown.
That's it! You're done!
A note: Since the side curve of the new enclosure is smoother, the trim on the blue button caps might rub the bottom edge of the enclosure. You can fix this by trimming one side of the button caps where the flat flange meets the outer upward slope.
